BESTUNE has put together four road trip routes across Russia – from the towns of the Golden Ring and the country estates of the Moscow region to Valdai and the Caucasian Mineral Waters
Autumn traditionally turns short motoring trips into a genre of travel in their own right: historic towns grow quieter, nature parks become more striking, and two- or three-day itineraries allow you to see Russia without complicated logistics or lengthy holidays. BESTUNE has put together a selection of destinations for such journeys, suggesting the T90 crossover and B70 liftback as the cars for the trip.
One of the most obvious routes is the Golden Ring. Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Suzdal and Vladimir can be conveniently combined into several weekend itineraries. For longer stretches, the brand offers the T90: the cabin features dual-zone climate control, while separate air vents for the rear row help maintain a comfortable temperature for all passengers.
The autumn Caucasus is an entirely different proposition. Kislovodsk Park, the viewing platforms of Pyatigorsk and the roads of the Caucasian Mineral Waters are particularly striking at this time of year, thanks to the contrast between the golden foliage and the snow-capped mountains. For winding mountain passes, the T90 is equipped with hill start assist and downhill speed control. The 540° surround-view cameras should make manoeuvring easier in the tight car parks at tourist attractions.
For more intimate excursions from Moscow, BESTUNE suggests a route taking in the country estates of the Moscow region – Arkhangelskoye or Ostafyevo, for instance. Here the emphasis shifts from challenging terrain to practicality: the B70 liftback’s 440-litre boot expands to 930 litres with the rear row folded, and the seatbacks can be lowered independently.
Another option is Valdai National Park. The journey from Moscow takes several hours, so range matters more here. According to the manufacturer, the 160 hp 1.5-litre B70 engine consumes 6.8 litres of fuel per 100 km. With a 50-litre tank, the calculated range exceeds 700 km – enough for the round trip without stopping to refuel.
Ultimately, the selection works less as a catalogue of cars than as a reminder of just how varied autumn routes across Russia can be: from old country estates and Volga towns to national parks and the mountain roads of the Caucasus.
