For business, this is a signal that the Caucasus has ceased to be a niche destination and has become a fully fledged magnet for capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The economic figures bear this out: industrial output in the district rose by 5.4% in 2024, wholesale trade by 11%, and new housing completions exceeded 9 million sq m (up 23% over the year). The region\u2019s population has reached 10.3 million, generating steady demand for housing, infrastructure and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The principal focus of private investment is tourism. The development of the Arkhyz, Elbrus, Mamison and Veduchi resorts, along with a coastal cluster on the Caspian Sea, is shaping a new tourist map of the country. In 2024, the region\u2019s special economic zones attracted 67.5 billion roubles \u2014 twice as much as the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second strategic priority is logistics. The development of the International North\u2013South Transport Corridor reinforces the Caucasus\u2019s role as a transit hub between Russia, Asia and the Middle East, stimulating growth in industry, agriculture and the service sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agro-industrial complex remains one of the pillars of the district&#8217;s economy, accounting for around 16% of its gross regional product. The region is fully self-sufficient in staple foods and continues to expand its export potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe see the North Caucasus as a territory for long-term investment \u2014 not only in commercial projects, but also in the urban, social and cultural environment. It is precisely this comprehensive development that makes the region resilient and attractive to capital,\u201d notes Lev Mazaraki, head of the Stylobat investment and industrial group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2024, the North Caucasian Federal District attracted 1.2 trillion roubles in direct investment \u2014 6.3% more than the previous year. Private capital accounted for over half of this total.
