The INNOPROM international industrial exhibition will change its usual venue for the first time: the debut of its overseas programme will take place in the Indian capital. The event will be held from 9 to 11 September 2026 at the Bharat Mandapam exhibition complex, serving as a key business occasion on the eve of the BRICS summit.
Expanding the geographical reach of Russia’s flagship exhibition forms part of a systematic strategy to strengthen international trade ties. The new destination was organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, with operational duties handled by Formika Event.
The choice of New Delhi is no accident: for Russia, this is not merely a new location but an entry into one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing markets. With a population of around 1.5 billion and an economy worth more than $4 trillion, India is a strategic priority. Over the past five years, bilateral trade between the two countries has grown almost sevenfold, exceeding $60 billion by the end of 2025.
It is worth recalling that India already has a successful track record at INNOPROM: in 2016, the country served as the exhibition’s partner, presenting a national pavilion covering 3,700 m2 and bringing together 115 exhibiting companies. Last year, the theme of bilateral cooperation was once again discussed on the sidelines of the exhibition during a round table dedicated to achieving a trade turnover of $100 billion.
In 2026, the scale promises to be considerably more impressive. The exhibition space is expected to exceed 10,000 m2. Leaders in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, mining and the chemical industry will present their developments and products, alongside companies from the IT, pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors.
The business programme will focus on practical steps to expand trade and industrial cooperation. A key element will be a B2B matchmaking exchange, bringing together buyers and suppliers from both countries to find partners and conclude contracts.
