Decorative cosmetics brand Russian Beauty Guru (RBG) has paid homage to Ivanovo calico by releasing a lipstick collection called Russian Nude in collaboration with the Museum of Ivanovo Calico.
Traditional fabric painting patterns previously presented at the Chicago World’s Columbian Exposition and three Paris Expositions Universelle are used in the design of the lipstick packaging. Today, the Museum of Ivanovo Calico endeavours to popularize our unique textile heritage, bringing Ivanovo calicos back onto the streets, making their prints, decoration, and patterns part of the everyday visual code. This goal was particularly addressed in the project I Will Wear It! recently implemented by the museum in collaboration with RBG.
